Join the Deaf Empowering Network Team – Make a Real Impact

Are you passionate about connecting communities and making a real difference in the lives of deaf, deafened, deafblind, and hard-of-hearing people?

We’re looking for a Community Engagement Worker who’s excited to lead drop-ins, coordinate events and workshops, and support people to feel connected, confident, and heard.

About the Role

  • Job title: Community Engagement Worker
  • Location: Stockton, Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland
  • Hours: 22.5 hours per week – flexible schedule
  • Salary: Dependent on experience
  • Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Application Deadline: 20 June 2025

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Coordinating inclusive community drop-ins, workshops, and social events
  • Working closely with deaf, deafened, deafblind, and hard-of-hearing individuals
  • Helping reduce isolation and improve well-being
  • Acting as a vital connector between people, services, and opportunities

What You’ll Need

  • A strong commitment to community engagement and inclusion
  • Experience organising events, workshops, or support sessions
  • Preferred: Ability to communicate in British Sign Language (BSL). BSL Level 1 training will be provided.
  • Warmth, empathy, and good organisational skills
  • A DBS Enhanced Check (we can support this process)
